1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly: name, email, phone number, date of birth, driver's license details, payment information, and the contents of communications you send through Alvro. We also collect technical information about your device and how you use Alvro.

2. How we use it

  • Provide the Alvro marketplace and process your bookings
  • Verify your identity and assess trip risk
  • Send you transactional notifications by email, SMS (if you opt in), and in-app
  • Process payments, refunds, and host payouts
  • Handle Trust & Safety incidents and damage claims
  • Comply with applicable laws and respond to legal requests

3. Phone numbers & SMS

If you provide your mobile number and opt in to SMS, we use it only to send transactional messages as described in our SMS Terms. We do not sell or share your mobile number with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Who we share information with

  • Other users: we share limited information (name, profile photo, listing details) with the other party to a trip so the booking can complete.
  • Service providers: payment processors (Stripe), SMS provider (Twilio), email provider (SendGrid), identity verification, fraud prevention, hosting, and analytics. These providers are contractually limited to processing data on Alvro's behalf.
  • Insurers and law enforcement: as required to handle a claim, comply with a subpoena, or protect Alvro's rights.
  • Aggregated and anonymized data: we may share statistical data that does not identify you.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@alvro.com.

6. Data retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after deletion to handle disputes, comply with legal obligations, and prevent fraud.

7. Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards including encryption-in-transit (HTTPS), encryption-at-rest, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

8. Children

Alvro is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect.
