SMS Messaging Terms

1. What we text you

If you provide your mobile number and opt in, Alvro will send you transactional SMS for:

  • Guests (renters): booking confirmation, 24-hour pre-trip reminder, 30-minute pre-pickup handoff reminder, login security codes, and damage-claim alerts.
  • Hosts (car owners): new-booking alert when a guest reserves your car, plus damage-claim alerts.

We do not send marketing or promotional SMS. Every message is tied to a specific account activity or booking.

2. Frequency

Typically 1–4 messages per trip. Login security codes are sent only when you request them. Frequency varies based on how often you book or host.

3. How to opt in

You opt in by checking the "I agree to receive transactional SMS from Alvro" box when you provide your mobile number — at signup, at booking checkout, or in your account settings. You can also opt in at any time by enabling SMS notifications in your Alvro account preferences.

4. How to opt out

Reply STOP to any Alvro SMS to immediately opt out. You will receive one final confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out and will not receive further SMS from Alvro.

You can also opt out at any time from your account: Settings → Notifications → SMS → off.

Opting out of SMS does not affect your email or in-app notifications, and does not cancel any booking.

5. Help

Reply HELP to any Alvro SMS for support contact info, or email support@alvro.com at any time.

6. Carrier & data rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Alvro is not responsible for carrier charges.

7. Carrier liability

Carriers (including but not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Privacy

We will never share your mobile number with third parties for marketing purposes. Our use of your phone number is governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes

We may update these SMS terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
